CNA Certification Process
First of all you need to complete your training programs prior to your certification. Minimum requirement is taking at least 75 hours of classroom hours training and another 100 of practice in a hospital or any other nursing facility. After completion you will need to make your final step.
And this is a requirement for you to take the state exam. This is a must for you to become certified as Certified Nursing Assistant. If you were a diligent student, then this exam will not be a problem for you.
The exam has two parts: written and practical ones. Written exam is taken in a classroom and is based on theory you covered during your classes. Practical part takes place in a clinic, nursing home or any other nursing facility. You will need to show your practical skills. In general there can be 3-5 practical thing you will need to demonstrate. For both parts you need to review your lessons thoroughly, otherwise certification process may not go as well as you’re expecting.
And now the good news: once you successfully pass both parts of your exams, your name will automatically be added and listed in the state registry of CNAs. It means that your certification process is complete and you have become a Certified Nursing Assistant.
